AREA 43 COUNSELLING

SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR OVER 25 YEARS

AREA 43 COUNSELLING

It’s all on your terms

Area 43 has extensive counselling services across four counties, and counsellors operate from our early intervention mental health hubs, as well as across schools, primary care service and online.

We are an active member of the BACP, including the Children and Young People’s division and we have an established team of bilingual counsellors across our services who are qualified, experienced and BACP members.

We understand the barriers young people face, primarily, disadvantage and socio-economic inequality, isolation, poor transport, and mental health and wellbeing issues exasperated by a lack of designated safe spaces to assist.  We shape our counselling services to address these.

AREA 43 COUNSELLING

We are tackling issues head on

We are tackling head-on, the issues around isolation, self-esteem, and resilience to reduce the impact of mental health issues affecting young people by working with young people, rather than creating services and fitting young people into them.

We are flexible, needs-led, trauma-informed and trustworthy. Young people know that they can come to us, not just when in crisis, but before then, that they will be heard, listened to and supported to make changes.

All of our counselling services aim improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of young people affected by mild to moderate mental health concerns, by offering short-term, independent, person-centred, non-judgmental, confidential counselling that builds resilience.

We understand that young people with multiple and complex needs may require a larger support networks, so we utilise our knowledge and links with other services to best meet their needs.
