Area 43 runs a ‘Drop-in centre’ from our administrative hub in Cardigan. We provide a safe, informal, caring, non-discriminatory and non-judgmental environment where young people (aged 16-25) can socialise with their peers and access a range of quality information and support from trained and experienced staff.
The centre provides free hot drinks, subsidised food and an internet cafe. We also offer a range of engaging activities which are delivered in an informal environment.
These include many kinds of Arts and Crafts and Personal Development activities such as Confidence Building, Communication Skills, Emotional Literacy and Practical Life Skills.
Area 43 is an Agored Cymru registered training centre, which enables us to offer accreditation for a range of these activities.
We offer a fully professional and confidential counselling service to any young person aged 16-25 years at our Cardigan centre. Area 43 also contracts with Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion County Councils to deliver a Schools Based Counselling Service to all secondary school aged young people and year 6 primary pupils across both counties.
” It was nice to know that once a week I could talk to someone, I could concentrate on my school work instead of worrying about things on my mind and I learnt to help myself and have more confidence. “
“It helped me turn my outlook around and feel better about myself and relationships with other people around me”
